Hello!! Welcome to my first, semi-regular rundown of my writing progress and miscellaneous other bits and pieces!


Thank you so much for taking me up on my invitation to subscribe to this ride, even though most of you have already had a taste of my chaotic horny chihuahua energy. You signed up anyway and now you're all mine. My mailing list overfloweth in its fecundity! (Seriously though, you can unsubscribe at ANY time). And please let me know if you have any suggestions of content you'd like to see. I have some ideas (and collaborators) lined up, but I'm just wingin' in here.


I am most comfortable in long form, but I'll do my best to keep these updates brief. I'll split up each update according to sub-headings. So rather than updates reading like an essay, they'll read like a report instead. FUN, RIGHT?


It's been a busy month. I was worried I was going to lose my job at one point, but my team has survived this latest round of the employment Hunger Games. We are part of the Precariat, but we're hanging in there.

 

Halloween Through the Ages

Halloween is not traditionally 'celebrated' much in Australia, but that's been changing over time. We do our best to contribute. Sadly, there will be no Trick or Treating this year :(

SLAY & La Vie En Rose


So SLAY (Dramione fantasy AU) was meant to be my submission for MF Fest 2021, but when the story began to blow out to 23k words, with no end in sight, I knew I had to pull the plug and submit something more manageable instead. The end result was La Vie En Rose, which I wrote in about three days and came in at a more reasonable 12k words.


SLAY Summary

No one knows how the Liminal came to be. It is a bridge between two words; the world of men and mages, and the world of the Elim. For centuries, witches have kept the Liminal at bay, preventing it from expanding and allowing the encroachment of the Elim into human territory. Hermione Granger's turn to guard the Liminal has come. Trouble is, the role is also a death sentence, as the magic required to temper the Liminal kills most witches within a few, short years. Hermione has no intention of dying, however. She wants to take down the Liminal once and for all, but this will require the help of the very enemy she seeks to destroy.

SLAY Art

I commissioned Dramione Superartist, Jaxx, to make a piece for SLAY . Here it is! The first chapter is released over the Christmas break. I CANNOT WAIT!!
